Party Animals

I had a bit of a emergence last week as I was down to my last sheet of white card stock, it was bad!! Of course I had to rectify the situation pretty quick so put in a order and was relieved then my order came a few days later!! I got to work on some straight away!
I was sorting through my nephew's album the other day and I noticed there were a few gaps missing, stories that I hadn't scrapped yet. The album is looking really good and is not that far from being finished just these few gaps and it's great seeing him grow up through the layouts so this inspired me to fill them!
Firstly I did this quick and easy layout!
I tried out my new chevron crafter workshop template, I applied the paint with a sponge so I could get crisp edges and it also gave it texture. I then printed the photos and went through my pot of  shape scraps, things that I was going to use on various projects but didn't in the end! It really made this layout quick and easy!
Next I made a double layout! I know it's quite a rare occasion but sometimes it has to be done and actually once in a while I really enjoy making them! This doubler is from my nephew's first Birthday, I had lots of lovely photos of him and his little friends in the paddling pool that just had to have a place in the album! This is what I came up with: (Click on it to enlarge)
I loved the bright colours from the photos so I picked them out with patterned papers and took the round shape from the balls in the pool and punched some circles!
Close up of each side:

I still working on my nephews Granny square, crochet blanket too, I only have a couple more rows to sew up and then I will start the borders it's quite exciting!! It has been a bit boring sewing up rows though so can't wait to finish those!!

Hope you are enjoying the sunshine where you are, I know I am!!
Back Soon! xx

Blooming

This weeks challenge at The Studio was a Pinterest challenge! Don't we all love Pinterest?! Valerie Picked a lovely pin for us to be inspired by. This is my layout:
I loved the colours and shape of the flowers in the picture so I tried to recreate them! Here's how I did it!

I cut out 6 flowers shapes (yes they were handcut!) and laid them on my cardstock and misted over them. If they do curl out I stuck then down with a little bit of repositionable glue.

Then when it was dry I removed the flower shapes.
Then I hand stitched around the flowers and then painted in the flowers and added buttons to the centres. It was time consuming but I'm quite pleased with how it looks!
Go and check out the photo that I was inspired by and see what the design team created, it's amazing all the different interpretations from one photo!

My Nan is still poorly so things are still a bit difficult but she is improving so that's great news!
Hope you have a great weekend.
Back Soon! xx

Cheeky Monkeys

The other day I had a bit of time and needed to create so I whipped up this quick layout!
It is of the cheeky Monkeys of Longleat Safari Park, that you can drive through, they climb all over the cars. My sister didn't really want to go through as she doesn't like Monkeys much but we did in the end!! They were all over our car and wouldn't move so we started to move off and one of the monkeys fell off and all you could see was his little monkey fingers gripping on to the back wind wiper!!!
I sprayed the background with my copper Shimmer mist with is lovely as it really catches the light and shines and it also looks a bit like mud!
It been a bit of a week of it here as my Nan is really poorly with chest Infection, at 91 everything become serious so she needs a lot of looking after. Hopefully she will start feeling better soon, it's not nice watching someone fighting to breathe.
Hope you're having a good week!
Thanks so stopping by! xx

Up and Down

Today's challenge at The Studio is as it's all the trend at the moment is to use chevrons on your layout in anyway you can think of!
This is my layout:
This is one of those layouts that does not want to photograph well at all I've tried loads of times but this was the best I could do, it does look better than this is real life, promise! I've made it giant so you can see it!

I wanted to scrap these photos of my nephew, Rowan and I on my birthday last year for a while now so it was good to get it done! I made my own chevrons and then hand stitched in between them.
I've been really poorly this week with a nasty cough and cold so haven't been doing much but resting, coughing really wears you out!!

I did have something nice happen though, I heard Wendy talking about double page layouts on the 'Papermaze' blog the other day so I sent her one of mine and she has put up on the shops blog!
It was this one:

Anyway hopefully I'll be back soon! xx
